Laura Rhodes, MSPT,

Laura is a 2000 Physical Therapy graduate of Russell Sage College.  She has extensive clinical experience in orthopedics and sports medicine, and has enjoyed a career of practicing in outpatient settings.  She has a well-rounded background of working with vast patient populations, from young athletes to “weekend warriors”, including comprehensive return to sports training and assessment.  Her experience also extends to the geriatric population, including progressive neurologic disorders, balance disorders and fall risk prevention, as well as patients battling chronic pain.

Laura uses a whole-body approach to therapy and healing, with a large focus on manual therapy interventions as well as functional movement analysis in order to create comprehensive and individualized rehabilitative exercise programs.  She places high importance on personalized patient goals and patient education, feeling it is essential for patients to understand their conditions and to be able to achieve the highest level of health.  She believes in giving patients the tools to help self-manage chronic conditions as well as for prevention of future injuries and relapses.

Laura also specializes in Vocational Rehab, including treatment of work-related injuries, return-to-work and ergonomic assessments, and on-site job analysis.  Additionally, she is trained in the McKenzie method of mechanical diagnosis and treatment (MDT).

Outside of work Laura enjoys spending time with her husband and their four-legged family.  She is an equine athlete, competing in Hunter/Jumper competitions with her horse, Reggie.  She and her husband also volunteer with a local animal rescue and often foster cats in need of adoption; she has a passion for rehabilitation of feral kittens.
